In this way, we have registered several dozen Swiss designs for our clients at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) every year. The design applications at the IGE are carried out by us online to ensure a speedy registration.
Swiss designs extend territorial protection
Because Switzerland is not part of the European Union (EU), Community designs (EU designs) do not also protect the design owner in the territory of Switzerland. Therefore, in order to obtain design protection in Switzerland as well, it is additionally necessary to register a design in Switzerland.
Our guarantee: We will register your Swiss design with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) within 24 hours after we have received the design registration fees
We want to avoid delays in the registration of your Swiss designs in any case. We therefore expressly guarantee that we will always file the Swiss design application with the IGE within 24 hours of receipt of the application fees in our account. The design application will be filed online by one of our attorneys who will personally file it online with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE). This guarantees an error-free and expeditious application in accordance with the standards of the IGE.
Design certificates for registered designs
After registration of the Swiss design, the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) sends the design certificate by mail in paper form. If you wish, we can then send you the design certificate by mail or by DHL Express. We will also be happy to store the design certificate for you in our archives in our office. Should there be a dispute about your registered design at a later date, the design certificate will provide full proof before the competent Swiss court that you are the owner of the registered Swiss design.
